For those who don’t know, Council member Mike Munzing tried to ban the flying of flags other than the US and State of California flags. Mayor Ackley managed multiple public speakers, muzzled Munzing when he spoke out of turn, and conducted the meeting like an adult unafriad of MAGA.
And she won. Alsio Viejo won. We won.

The pride flag has flown at Aliso Viejo City Hall every June since Tiffany Ackley was first elected, remaining unchallenged until April 2, 2025, when Councilman Mike Munzing introduced a flag policy aimed at prohibiting its display.
Despite battling the flu, Tiffany led the meeting, enduring Munzing’s mockery as he interjected with a “meow!” when she wouldn’t allow him to speak out of turn.
Tiffany firmly insisted that all speakers be given their full three minutes, even when requests were made to shorten speaking times. After public comments were heard, she read aloud all the emailed feedback she had received on the issue.
In total, the city received 164 comments, with only 13 expressing support for the proposed ban. Once public input concluded, Tiffany returned to the council for discussion. In a powerful 20-minute critique of the proposal, she highlighted not only its legal flaws but also its moral shortcomings. She dismantled the proposal, revealing its discriminatory intent by sharing comments from a MAGA Facebook page that Munzing moderates.
Sometime after midnight, realizing his proposal was doomed to fail, Munzing tore it up, prompting cheers and applause from the crowd.

So inspiring. Yawn.
Perhaps she could devote her political energy to solving real world problems instead of pandering to her base of people that see everything they do and every action they take thru the lens of what type of sexual activity they enjoy. And I’m surprised that the A—Z ++x- community isn’t screaming because they are not flying the very latest in “inclusive “ flag choices that change on a monthly basis as new groups of deviants demand recognition.
