As Republican candidates Meg Whitman and Carly Fiorina launch their general election campaigns after having spent a combined $100 million to buy their respective primaries, California workers and families will rally to declare they won’t stand for Whitman and Fiorina’s plans to buy the Governor’s and Senator’s offices in a hostile corporate takeover of California.
It’s an election-night extravaganza. KOCE will be broadcasting LIVE, with interviews of candidates, politicians, and analysts on a special edition of Real Orange. Voice of OC (Orange County’s nonprofit investigative news agency) will also be providing coverage and commentary throughout the evening.

In his weekly address, President Barack Obama underscored his commitment to helping the people of the Gulf Coast recover and rebuild from the BP oil spill that has threatened their livelihoods. On Friday, the President heard from local residents and small business owners about the hardships that they are facing as a result of this catastrophe.
President Barack Obama visited the Gulf Coast again this Friday to chastise BP for paying billions out in dividends and advertising to improve the public image while those affected by the oil spill were having difficulty receiving their claims. He also declared a moratorium on offshore deep oil drilling until a commission had found a way to safely drill this deep.
