One of our readers dropped me a note last night:
Thought I’d bring this to your attention…
As you know, Beth Krom lost her 22-year-old son after he fell off a cliff June 6. For a considerable portion of the fundraising period, she’s been mourning this loss, spending as much time/energy as she could muster on the fundraising circuit. Had she not lost her son, she still probably would have been handedly out-raised by incumbent John Campbell in this reliably red district. Even so, the former used car salesman turned pol says this via Twitter:
It was followed by a correction, but not the type you’d think…
Classy.
I’ve got a couple questions. Does Campbell really write this stuff or is it written by some punk? Does Campbell really only have 52 friends following him on Twitter?
I have to believe that this isn’t something written by John’s Red County consultant Matt Cunningham. Matt, can you give someone a call and suggest that the campaign stop allowing TWITS to Tweet for Campbell on Twitter.
Chris:
I wrote the Tweet. I started the Twitter feed a couple of days before going on vacation for a week, so haven’t had much time to build followers.
The profile indicates its from Campbell himself; a tad dishonest, isn’t it?
Campbell is a disgrace. He is completely out of touch with a significant portion of this district. He represents and serves only the utmost affluent and couldn’t care less about the ordinary, undistinguished individuals in our district. His insensitivity and avarice ways are absolutely appalling. Campbell’s character makes for an exemplary car salesman, and a poor leader. Here’s hoping for Krom in 2010….
“Adios, Krom!” What a tactless and childish thing to say… That is just embarrassing for Campbell…
Regaurdless of who wrote this tweet, whether it be a representative of Campbell or Campbell himself, it still represents Campbell. This is a completely inappropiate comment. Beth Krom is doing an amazing job fundraising, especially considering the difficult situation life has throw at her. I wonder if Campbell could accomplish the same amount if he was placed in Beth’s situation. Campbell needs to say Adios to his bad attitude.
