Join the Orange County Young Democrats on Thursday May 13th for their monthly meeting. Their special guest will be Santa Ana Mayor Miguel Pulido. Mayor Pulido is expected to discuss what is happening in the City of Santa Ana, his reelection campaign, the unique and active role Young Democrats can play in Orange County Politics, and the importance of their involvement this election season.

I had some high hopes that when Vern Nelson took over as editor of the Orange Juice blog he’d make an effort to make sure that some of the posts had a measure of accuracy. And I also hoped to win the $266 million lottery Tuesday, and I didn’t so I’m not surprised by multiple errors and misrepresentations in three recent OJ posts about our pending lawsuit against Art Pedroza and the Orange Juice Blog.
Right about now the Lincoln Club, along with a host of other right wing organizations such as the David Horowitz Freedom Center and the Newport Harbor Republican Women will be hosting their forum on how to deal with immigration. It seems that there is always some person involved in our local government process who thinks that they can dictate what happens. In this case in Costa Mesa it is Jim Righeimer, who couldn’t get elected as a dog-catcher if his life depended on it, who thinks he’s in charge.
Instead of engaging in a real dialogue about the fundamental differences we have when it comes to energy policy and offshore drilling – me adamantly opposed to drilling California’s coast and Calvert adamantly for – he wasted no time resorting the same dirty political tricks that desperate candidates use when they can’t run from their record.
