Whther its the local county party or the state party, what the hell happened to Republicans and actual common sense?
South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem is the keynote speaker for the California GOP at the State Party’s Convention in May in Burlingame. Sure hope SPCA or PETA shows up to picket.
Noem wrote in her not yet released memoir that she took a 14 month old puppy to a gravel pit and shot the dog in cold blood. Noem claimed the dog, named Cricket, was “untrainable” and “dangerous.”
“It was not a pleasant job,” she wrote. “But it had to be done.”
Noem’s nutjob right wingers are coming to her defense:
“This story is not landing. It is not a facet of rural life or ranching to shoot dogs,” conservative commentator Tomi Lahren posted online.
Laren bragged about kicking her dog “five times” because she was bothering her during an appearance on “Fox & Friends” in 2018.
“I’m not sure which thing she (Noem) did was stupider: The fact that she murdered the dog, or the fact that she was stupid enough to publish it in a book,” said Joan Payton, of the German Wirehaired Pointer Club of America, in a Associated Press story. The club itself described the breed as “high-energy,” and said Noem was too impatient and her use of a shock collar for training was botched.
Noem is considered to be on ther short list for Donald Trump’s possible VP. But shooting a dog (and a goat?) and rumors of a long time extramartial affair with Trump campaign aid Corey Lewandowski have likely sunk Noem’s bid to be the First South Dakota resident on a national ticket since George McGovern.
Sure hope none of the Republicans attending Noem’s keynote lunch ask for a doggy bag.
