Santa Ana, Calif. — The Brady Campaign Against Gun Violence has endorsed Joe Dunn for California’s 46th Congressional District, announced the Dunn campaign.
“Every day, we fight to reduce the gun violence that takes so many innocent lives. Californians who have had enough need Joe Dunn in Congress,” said Mary Leigh Blek president emeritus of the Million Mom March and activist with the Orange County Chapter of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. “He’s the only candidate in this race who will stand up to the corporate gun lobby and fight for us on Capitol Hill.”
In the legislature, Joe fought for tracking ammunition purchases while his opponent – Lou Correa voted against sensible gun laws, such as background tracks on ammunition purchases and banning high capacity ammunition cartridges.
Joe is the leading candidate with support from progressive organizations fighting for the middle class, including the Orange County Labor Federation, California Teachers Association, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, and California Young Democrats.
Joe Dunn has thirty years of experience standing up to the establishment and holding big corporations accountable to Orange County’s middle-class families. He’s empowered communities through the legal system to stop polluters and fought price-gouging drug companies. He took on oil companies ripping off consumers at the gas pump and stood up to gun manufacturers to make our neighborhoods safer. Joe fought to secure millions of dollars from tobacco companies to be used for local health care services and community clinics.
Joe lives with his wife, Diane, in their Santa Ana home of nearly twenty years. They have two adult children, Sarah and John. California’s 46th congressional district includes the cities of Anaheim, Garden Grove, Orange, and Santa Ana.
