GARDEN GROVE – California Fair Political Practices Commission Enforcement Division Spokesperson Chloe Hackert confirmed today that the State’s Ethics Committee would investigate a new complaint against County Supervisor Andrew Do.
The complaint which was filed by Do’s opponent Garden Grove City Councilmember Phat Bui, accuses Do of violation of the California General Code Section 82025 misusing $60,490 solicited from a Buddhist Temple and private companies which were earmarked for a “Mile Square Park Public Art/Historic Project.”
“Supervisor Andrew Do has a history of misusing the power of his office for self-serving political purposes. He is already under investigation for using county funds to pay for campaign-style mass mailings. Now he will be investigated for taking money from local charities and giving it to his political campaign worker. It is no wonder that State Senator Janet Nguyen and others who formerly supported Supervisor Do have denounced him,” said Phat Bui.
Andrew Do is currently under investigation by the FPPC for using taxpayer funds to send out illegal “campaign style” mass mailings. That investigation was started by a complaint from Councilman Bui.
