Yesterday, President Barack Obama took his case for immigration reform directly to the American people. Unfortunately, Many Americans probably didn’t even notice. All three major television networks indicated that they were not interested in interrupting their prime-time schedules for a Presidential address on immigration. While this is reality runs counter to the misperception that there is a “liberal bias” in the media, it is also a symptom of the growing apathy of the American public towards politics and government in general. Using the apathy of voters towards this November’s election as a measure, the networks decisions are understandable.
