No change in original certification as recount ends

November 24, 2014 – Garden Grove Mayor Bruce Broadwater has ended the recount in the City of Garden Grove mayoral contest. The recount began this morning and ended this evening following a full day of manually recounting ballots. Mr. Broadwater made the original request following the certification of the election.

During the recount nearly 2,500 vote-by-mail ballots were recounted in ten precincts. There were no changes to the vote totals. The original certification of the ballots cast remains as the official certification. The ballots cast and vote totals for the City of Garden Grove can be found in the “Results” section at ocvote.com

Missed in the release was the statement that with the cessation of the recount, Bao Nguyen will be the first elected Vietnamese Mayor in Garden Grove. Congratulations Bao! You worked for it and you earned it.
