When I heard that Costa Mesa City Councilman Stephen Mensinger had claimed on Facebook that his vehicle had been vandalized I asked myself; “Haven’t we been down this road already?” Just as with the apparent vandalism of Leprechaun Mayor Gary Monahan’s bar (still waiting for the release of the so called “threatening note” that was tied to the brick that smashed through the window).

On Friday the Citizens Redistricting Commission released their first round of district maps for Assembly, Senate, Congress, and Board of Equalization. From the looks of things, the voters are getting pretty much what they asked for when they approved the ballot initiatives that set up the process. We’re getting more competitive districts.

When I read the Voice of OC headline “County Supervisors Balk at Use of Spanish Word in Health Promotion” I had to ask myself the simple question, are they clueless or racist? After watching the discussion on the video, I’m leaning towards clueless.
