Weiner-gate is in full bloom and no one likes a Democratic sex scandal like conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh; but it’s likely that the EIB team is interviewing for a new screener after a called last week reminded Limbaugh of his own .. ah, poor judgment.

Limbaugh was detained in 2006 returning from the Dominican Republic with 29 100-mg Viagra tablets.  The DR is a know destination for sex tourism.  The prescription for the little blue pills was not in Limbaugh’s name, and even if we believe his doctor that the pills weren’t in his name to protect his privacy, isn’t 29 tablets a bit much for a weekend trip?

Here’s the exchange with the caller last week:

Rush: Starting in Arlington Virginia this is Seth. Welcome sir, nice to have you on the EIB network, hello.

“Seth”: Thank you Rush. I’m lookin’ at this and I’m seeing two adults exchanging … well, actually seven if there were six women … exchanging pictures in a consentual way. And i guess it’s none of my business. It was none of the reporter’s business. It’s none of anybody else’s business. How is this different … I mean you’re talking about how “smart” everybody is, you talk about how smart you are every day … but, how is this different from you going to, you know the sexual tourist destination of Dominican Republic with a bottle of viagra and having that sprayed all over the headlines? How did you like that? Why is this different?

Rush: Well, but … what you describe about me isn’t true. And I guess what you’re suggesting here is that getting caught having sex affairs is only stupid when Republicans do it.

“Seth”: No, what I said ..

Rush (who by now has killed Seth’s call): No, this … you know you are, you’re repeating internet rumors based in hatred and misinformation and typical brainlessness on the left. NONE of that took place. But it’s people like you who present the rest of us with the greatest challenge we have in saving the country. Because general, glittering jewels of collosol ignorance like you, and your hate-filled partisanship are primarily responsible. People just like you are primarily responsible for the precarious poisition this great nation finds itself in. Because you can’t be counted on for genuine, decent citizenship. You can’t be counted on to protect this country when it’s under assault internally. You seek your jollies in false victories over your political enemies while your country is in the process of going down in flames. Its people like you that try to make excuses for reprobates like Weiner, and Clinton and so forth while immersing yourself in lies to make yourself feel good that present a problem for the rest of us. Feel sorry for ya. You’re probably capable of much more than you’re immersing yourself in. I gotta take a brief time out, we’ll come back, we’ll continue … right after this.

Let’s go back to the claim I bolded that “None of that took place.” 

In a word, bull.

Here’s a link to a handwritten statement to authorities provided by Limbaugh himself.  So while Limbaugh is certainly taking enjoying in the actions of Rep. Anthony Weiner, where was he in calling for the ouster of elected Republicans in actual sex scandals? 

Democratic leaders have called on Rep. Weiner to resign.  The GOP party leadsership has called on Weiner to resign.  I think he should too.  But where were the GOP and the conservative radio talking heads when it came to Larry Craig and John Ensign? 

State Rep. Don Wagner once quizzed me on the radio programs and TV shows I watched.  I told him I did listen to Limbaugh’s show.  Wagner said, “Rush tells the truth. It’s not the truth you want to hear.”  Except when Limbaugh lied as he did.

  4. Both Clavert and Limbaugh held a series of interviews with after being caught saying that they were the victims of a left wing activist. They both said the words “I am a victim” and blamed the media for their troubles. Thye both said a crime was committed against them Right???

    Take a look at Wiener on ABC 3 days before he spilled his guts at the press conference. A truth telling press conferance in which the VERY VERY first statement out of his mouth was another bold stupid lie. Your dumbass “apples to apples” conservatives are equally or worse at sex scandals is so very very lame.

    Now tell us why there are high profile liberals that are still supporting Wiener.

    I read Limbaugh’s statement. Did you watch the ABC interview for Wiener? What did Rush do when his medication was taken by custom officers? What did his statement say, how do you know what he said was a lie? Exactly what did he do that was wrong? Don’t speculate. Can a doctor give someone medication in their name? I get samples all the time from my doctor that would require a prescription. So how are his actions and Wiener’s the same?

    I asked you to please clarify exactly how Limbaugh’s actions were the same as Weiner’s. They are in fact totally OPPOSITE. How specifically are they the same? Again, I read what Rush rode and remembered how he acted after the incident. Did you watch the ABC clip? You took time to come up with a clever photoshop of Rush with pills dancing around his head to put conservatives in our place that we have someone in the same league as Weiner. Now take half that effort you put into the graphic and write four lines of text to state SPECIFICALLY how their actions are the same. If you do I will conceded your point. I will go even further and write a letter to the State Department urging them to take action to free a sexy outspoken lesbian girl from her Syrian tormentors.

  11. Rush was in posession of prescription drugs without a prescription until his doctor clarified it. He took them to a place that is known as a destination for sex tourism. He lied about it when he was called out about it on his radio program.

    Weiner sent photos of his privates to women and lied about it.

    Neither man did anything illegal (once Rush’s doctor provided an explanation), though Rush could have been charged and the drugs seized (29 Viagras for a weekend trip?); both men lied about their actions. The difference; Weiner has apologized for his actions and Rush congtinues to insist there was no truth to the Viagra incident despite a handwritten explanation provided in a link in this story.

    You have stated that “high profile liberals are still supporting Weiner” when that isn’t true; Obama has suggested he resign, Peloshi and Hoyer have called for his resignation, Wasserman-Schultz and Harry Reid have disavowed him.

    Chirps over calls for Vitter or Ensign to step down….

    Facts have a liberal bias. And yes, I think Weiner should resign. He owes the biggest apology to his wife.

  12. One difference in all of this is that Weiner was BEGGING to get caught – that is fairly obvious – that is weird.

    I don’t think that he should resign. I think that he should continue as a disgraced, disrespected and ineffectual Dem congressman.

    To put context into Rush’s actions. I look forward to your mug being plastered over the Register when you are stopped by a traffic cop and sited for having Viagra in a bottle without your name on it while driving to Palm Springs, a destination for sex tourism.

    But I commend you for calling on HIM to resign. Let’s go over the facts of what HE did.

    • He has sex with a subordinate employee while married.
    • He had ongoing sex in his government offices with a subordinate employee.
    • He lied under oath about having sex with a subordinate employee while testifying in a lawsuit where he was named for having committed sexual harassment.
    • He had sex from a subordinate employee while conducting official government business, talking to a General on the phone.
    • He requested that a subordinate speak to him on a secure government phone using lewd language to assist in facilitating his masturbating while in his government office.
    • In the hallway of the White House, while going from one government meeting to the other he inserted a cigar into his mistresses’ vagina.
    • He hijacked a press conference from a US Senator to go on TV and jab his finger at the American Public to lie and to denounce his critics.

    No, wait he didn’t do any of these things, he just took some nude photos of himself and texted racy messages. Who did all of these things? Duhhh – far worse and by a person in a much higher position of responsibility.

    You speak about consistency and where were the calls for resignation of Republicans. You didn’t call on Clinton to resign. You did the opposite, you attacked Republicans for meddling in his private affairs that were between him and his wife. Gads you are completely inconsistent.
