Scooby Doo’s Parent Company Sues the Orange Juice Blog

We’ve received a tip that the Hanna-Barberra Company has filed a federal lawsuit against Art Pedroza and the Orange Juice blog for the illegal and unauthorized use of the copyrighted phrase “Ruh-Ro” used by thebeloved Saturday morning cartoon character.  The company is threatening a lawsuit in the seven figure range unless Pedroza apologies immediately and deletes all references to the word on his blog.

Pedroza could not be reached for comment as he was making a new round of calls to lawyers seeking pro-bono representation and left several messages for State Rep. Jose Solorio and State Senator Lou Correra asking “if they knew anyone who could represent (him) for free.”

Pedroza responded to the suit by demanding the URL www.ruhro.com and asked the company to help secure the domain names that reference “his associate Sean H. Mill.”  He also invited Scooby, Shaggy and the Harlem Globetrotters to the new Santa Ana dog park being opened on Pedroza’s front lawn in Santa Ana’s Park Santiago district.
