Stephen Colbert takes on those crazy birthers who choose to believe that a certified Birth Certificate from the state of Hawaii is a forgery. They refuse to accept the repeated assertions by the State of Hawaii that President Barack Obama was born in Hawaii.
When these same people start crowing that there are more important things to talk about than the repeal of Don’t ask don’t tell, the Defense of Marriage Act, the Employee Free Choice Act, just recall their priorities and laugh.

The Register also weighed in and the comments to their post is loaded with conspiracy theorists. What else do you think we should do?

I am a little emotional on this point.
I guess I think we should (I say we collectively)need to drive the point home that this guy is: A) Unbalanced or B) a joke, willing to play to the fringes of society to get votes/attention.
Perhaps I am simply frustrated by the fact that his idocy is featured on HARDBALL and most either don’t get it or don’t care. But here is the fact, His campaign guys know that this got the attention of the nuts, now they back away. In five days, a huge number of voters will be on vacation for the sixteen days (US average vacation period; NOT INDIVIDUAL). INCLUDING CONGRESS.
School starts soon and nobody gives a shit about the 48th congressional district until Holloween.
So in answer to your question, I guess he should be painted as a maniac, because thats what these birthers are, manic.
FWIW, I am still stunned how a guy like Chriss Street with a lot of money can BF the electorate and steal an election from a hard working guy like Pat Desmond.
