Garden Grove OKs resort over residents’ objections Council votes unanimously for 6-acre development
From The Orange County Register:
GARDEN GROVE – City Council members unanimously voted in favor of a 6-acre water park hotel development on Harbor Boulevard over the objections of residents who live in an RV park, which will have to be eliminated for the hotel to be built.
Tuesday night’s vote is the first step to allow Colorado-based developer McWhinney build a 600-room hotel with a 3-acre attached water park, which will be an exclusive amenity to the hotel’s guests. Construction, if the developer obtains financing for the project, is expected to begin in July 2012. The project is expected to bring in about $5.2 million in revenue to the city and hundreds of temporary and permanent jobs. The city will give the land to the developer and also spend $5 million to build a parking structure.

Well, at least it’s not a casino. Right?
So, what should the new attraction be named?
Dina’s Lagoon?
Bruce’s Water Works?
Steve’s Bath House?
Andy’s Aquifer?
Bill’s Bubble Park?
What would you name the Water Park?
How about the Waterloo (the battle AND the British word for toilet come to mind), or maybe the Watergate.
How many more Mobile home park residents are going to get kicked out of their homes by eminent domain so the GG City Council can create more bone headed developments?
Easy one … The Orange Flush.
