On Monday, the Orange County Board of Supervisors decided to continue their taxpayer funded casino run. They’ve hopped on the bus and they’re in all the way.
They have decided to continue their foolish legal attack on the pension benefits of Orange County Sheriff’s Deputies. At more than $1.5 million and counting, it’s anyone’s guess how much these people will ultimately bet on this dead horse.
The Register’s Norberto Santana has the full story here. My favorite quote from the story: Campbell said it’s important that the county keep going despite the cost of the lawsuit, because a win “could mean hundreds of millions in dollars in savings to taxpayers in local agencies.â€
For the record, the Gamblers Anonymous hotline number for Southern California is 877-423-6752.
Two words:
Billable hours.
Did anyone believe the County’s legal team was going to recommend a course of action that stopped a potential revenue stream?
This decision wasn’t so much as vetted as it was predestination.
But Hackett…
You’ve got to pay for the limo to Vegas. Right?
To think how many poor/homeless families this wasteful spending could help. It just pisses me off. My son’s friend had Top Raman for dinner tonight. Top Raman BOS!!!
