Jack Anderson

The Orange County Board of Supervisors has weighed in on former Orange County Sheriff Mike Carona’s hand picked Successor Jack Anderson.  Based upon a new standard adopted by the Board of Supervisors last year, Assistant Sheriff Jack Anderson is not technically qualified to be Undersheriff even though he is qualified to be an Assistant Sheriff and even Sheriff.

Anderson is well connected in republican circles as a former planning commissioner in Mission Viejo and a member of the Orange County Republican Party Central Committee.

With Supervisor’s Bates and Campbell absent, the Board has given its endorsement to Jack Andreson as interim Sheriff. Funny, these folks were screaming when Carona took a 60 leave of absence and left then Undersheriff Galisky in charge. They even rushed to change the requirements for the appointment of Assistant Sheriffs. Yet even though Anderson does not meet the requirements for Undersheriff, they appear to have no problem with Anderson.

I have to wonder if this has anything to do with his political connections? While I know Galisky stepped aside from her position as Undersheriff, I have to suspect her decision was based somewhat upon the previous “writing on the wall.” I certainly hope it had nothing to do with Galisky being a woman, or OMG a lesbian. Funny how opinions change when the new character is well connected, straight, male, and Republican.

  1. And Art Pedroza keeps whining about the Democratic Party being the party of old white men. Even though Art is technically not a Republican, he was a member of the true old white man party!

  2. I’m not as shocked with Janet as I am with Moorlach. He was grandstanding the day before and then did a complete reversal on his position.
