  1. Hallelujah!

Rogelio V. Morales has thrown in his hat for the Democratic nomination for the 44th Congressional District. As far as I can tell, he is by far the best shot Inland Empire Democrats have at finally defeating the truly corrupt Congressman Ken Calvert(R). His platform is very moderate, he is a former marine, and truly represents a “pull yourself up by the bootstraps” work ethic Democrats, Independents and even Republicans can feel comfortable voting for.

I heard him speak at the 2002 RCC graduation ceremony. What a bright, thoughtful and respectable young man, I remember thinking. No offense to Bill Hedrick and Louis Vandenberg, who are also running for the nomination, but they would do us Inland Empire Democrats a huge service by endorsing Mr. Morales now. Let’s be brutally honest: Vandenberg has never and will never win against Calvert and Bill Hedrick has some major baggage (I’d rather not mention here) that will make it impossible for Democrats to win if he is the Democratic nominee for our district.

Anyways, it’s looking like a blue wave is coming in 2008 and, with any luck, the 44th Congressional District will get some much-needed splash 🙂

  2. Bill Hedrick does not have any “major baggage”. That was a smear that has been refuted already. Please stop repeating this falsehood.

  3. Is it false? What part is false? Even Bill Hedrick did not say that the facts as stated in the zerointelligence.net blog are false. Either way, Bill is a terrible choice compared to Rogelio V. Morales.

  4. I don’t know much about 44th’s politics, since I don’t live in that district, but whoever ends up being the Democrat needs to give Calvert a huge thumping! Calvert is about as dirty as it gets!

A 3-way contest between 2 democrats and Calvert may be enough to keep the incumbent in office. Let’s prevent that from happening!

  5. I know Rogelio and believe me when I tell you that he will make Calvert’s life absolutely miserable if he gets the Democratic nod.

Former U.S. infantry Marine. Nuff said.

  6. Morales knows jack about the District. He goes to college in Washington. Seriously, what does he know about what the 44th needs? Bill Hedrick has actually worked his butt off for the people in Corona and Rialto, and he has real ties to the community that go beyond community college.

Nice little bio you wrote on here for yourself Roger. Speaking at the RCC graduation? There’s a glowing recommendation for Congress. Step aside and let a real candidate run – someone who actually wants to do some good and not just have one more thing to add to their resume.

And Bill isn’t a 909er – he’s a 951er. And so is Ken Calvert, so I guess your stuck either way.

  7. Bill Hedrick was just endorsed by the Democrats of Greater Riverside. Their forum was last Thursday night.

Louis Vandenberg made an opening statement. He announced that he was suspending his campaign and endorsing Bill Hedrick.

Hedrick ran circles around Morales, who clearly is not ready for prime time.
