Republicans beating up Republicans

Tonight the Orange County Republican Central Committee decided to endorse Pat Bates over Cassie DeYoung in the fifth district OC Supervisor’s race.

That’s a blow to the DeYoung campaign since they had originally decided not to endorse anyone in this race since both candidates were considered to be good Republicans.

I hear that tonight’s GOP Central Committee wasn’t as exciting as the one back in April when they did a second-chance vote for Sheriff Carona—upsetting a good percentage of those in attendance. [OC Register story]

A friend tells me that only three of the votes were votes against the Pat Bates endorsement—and one of those three was Tim Whitacre.
