Orange County’s LGBT Community Plans Demonstration at Ex-Gay Conference in Irvine

When Exodus International comes to Irvine next week, Orange County’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) community will be ready. They are planning a demonstration for Saturday, June 26th, from 4 to 6 PM at the intersection of Ridgeline Drive and University Drive in Irvine. “Ex-gay therapy is ineffective at best and can be dangerous at its worst. So when we heard that Exodus would be coming to town, we knew we had to do something,” said Alex Gorman, a Laguna Hills resident and team leader with Team Courage OC, a local progressive activist group.

Does John Seiler actually think that Senator Lou Correa is a communist?

John Seiler seems to think that State Senator Lou Correa is a communist. In a post yesterday he wrote “thanks to the profligacy of Lou “North” Correa and others, state and local government pension funds in California are $500 billion in the red.” So exactly what about pensions for public employees is communist? Well nothing, but that doesn’t stop Seiler from trying to make a connection where there is none so that he can use the phrase Lou “North” Correa.

Back on June 4th I wrote about how Shawn Nelson had surprisingly shifted his anticipated support for the proposed Coyote Hills development in Fullerton. For those who needed more proof of his duplicity I read yesterday in the Voice Of OC that Nelson, during his final meeting as a Fullerton councilman, asked his colleagues to hold a special meeting so that he could reconsider the matter.

County I.T. Department has failed to learn the 6 P’s

The audit, released today, describes a department that’s poorly organized, avoids accountability and fails to adequately disclose its spending internally and to county supervisors. It also calls out some strengths, including offering training opportunities and employing a knowledgeable staff that is responsive to customer needs.

The future really does look bright for Anaheim City Council member Lorri Galloway in her race for third in the Fourth Supervisor Special Election. She has again regained the lead over Buena Park Mayor Art “Robot Santa” Brown. As of Wednesday night, Lorri has a 27 vote lead over Brown.
