UPDATED: “House votes to extend jobless benefits” – On Tuesday, House Democrats revived legislation to extend unemployment benefits after previous legislation failed to pass the Senate. The new House bill, HR 5618, only addresses the unemployment extension. April 28, 2010 2

People wonder after the passage of SB 1070 if there has ever been a successful challenge to the Minutemen Agenda in the United States. Arizona Passes Anti-Immigrant Law, Now What!

This is the Arizona state legislature for you. The Republican controlled legislature has approved of making Latinos second class citizens, claims President Obama is not a US Citizen (which I believe should qualify as treason), has said it is ok for husbands to rape their wives and that Martin Luther King Jr. is NOT a national hero. The Devil in the Details of the CUSD Strike

April 23, 2010 1

I’ve been writing about Capistrano Unified School District and the struggles with our current Board of Trustees. The teachers went on strike Thursday even as talks began regarding the contract imposed by the CUSD Board of Trustees.

The details are important because they seem to be getting lost in translation between the media, the administration, the union and the parents. The issue is that Teachers are willing to take pay cuts, they just don’t want them to be permanent. There are other issues as well, which I’ve written about but the real issue is the board, who funded their race and the ultimate goal of a number of organizations to privatize our public education system.
