Back in March the residents of Costa Mesa were promised by CEO Tom Hatch that communications consultant Bill Lobdell would “create a communications structure that will put Costa Mesa on a path to being the nation’s most transparent government.”

The County has established a Redistricting Committee to consider public input on proposed changes to the boundaries of Supervisorial Districts and to make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors.

AOCDS President Wayne Quint, Jr. announced he will be retiring from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department to begin a new career in state government. With this announcement, Wayne resigned as President of the Association and Board of Directors.

“Please take the necessary steps to see that the Working Groups begin immediately to comply with the Brown Act. And please consider that the Council’s failure to do so will result in my recommendation to our Litigation Committee that we seek the appropriate court order(s) to ensure such compliance.”

Lunch time outside the County Hall of Administration was filled with a a few speeches, the Sheriff’s Honor Guard, Fire Authority Fife and Drum Corps, and free lunch. All in recognition of the service of our men and women in the military who have served our country past and present.

Longtime resident and commissioner Kris Beard was tapped last night by the Garden Grove City Council to complete the unexpired term of Councilman Andrew Do, who resigned last month. Beard is a manager with Orange County Community Resources.
