“On behalf of over 686,000 Registered Democrats in Orange County, it’s my honor as Chair of the Democratic Party of Orange County to welcome California Democratic Party delegates, honorable elected officials, and our allies in labor to beautiful Anaheim and Orange County.
As Democrats we have proven time and again that OC is a county that celebrates diversity, believes in the rule of law, and opposes authoritarianism wherever its ugliness is found. We believe in bringing communities together, standing up for our principles, and fighting every day on behalf of working families.
That’s how Orange County Democrats won races up and down the ballot in 2024, including flipping a congressional seat many though impossible – retiring MAGA Michele Steel for good. National Union of Healthcare Workers Strike at West Anaheim Medical Center May 26th-30th
Join us on the picket lines! We are 163 respiratory therapists, radiology technologists, licensed vocational nurses, and ultrasound technologists at Prime Healthcare’s West Anaheim Medical Center ready to go on a five-day strike starting Monday May 26th.
We’re demanding a contract that pays us market-rate wages so we can stop the exodus of experienced caregivers that has left our hospital severely understaffed and put patients at risk.
Over the Past three years, Prime has reported a $57.7 million net profit operating West Anaheim, but it’s not reinvesting those profits into us or the care we provide. Our facility is a critical community resource and of a select number of hospitals in OC capable of receiving emergency heart patients. We work tirelessly every day to save lives and ensure our patients can return to their families and loved ones.
Help us win this fight so that our hospital is safely staffed and perform up to the standards that everyone in our community deserves.

DPOC Spotlights Our First Award Recipient for Flag Day Fundraising Event, VALOR PAC President and Longtime OC Labor Leader, Nick Berardino
The DPOC is proud to announce its first award recipient for the Flag Day Fundraiser June 14th at 11AM.
Nick Berardino has been on the front lines of the labor movement for five decades, contributing a lifetime of work fighting on behalf of workers and advocating for veterans. Long before there was a “blue wave” in OC, Nick was the spark fueling what would become a fire for progressive change. Whether it was staring-down hostility from Republican Supervisors eager to outsource the county workforce or girding his members against a GOP-created county bankruptcy, Nick Berardino led the influential Orange County Employees Association through many formative years for the labor movement in OC, creating a legacy of steadfast leadership and commitment to principles enjoyed as an example for us all. Currently he is the President of VALOR PAC, an organization dedicated to creating a final resting place for veterans in Orange County.
For this work and acknowledging a lifetime of service on behalf of workers and veterans, the DPOC proudly presents its Voice for Veterans Award to Nick Berardino. Thank you!
