TheLiberalOC Has learned that OCDA Todd Spitzer has charged former Irvine Council Member and Mayoral candidate Tammy Kim with at least nine felony counts related to lying about her residence in the 2024 election. The Voice of OC has reported she faces 11 felony counts. It’s 10 felonies and one misdemeanor.
Kim “moved” into District 5 claimed she was concerned for her safety has citizen debate over Israel and Gaza heated up. That district 5 address was used when she cast her ballot for Mayor, won by Larry Agran. It was a plan B move so if she lost, she’d run for council in the April 15 special election.
A private investigator’s examination revealed no such residence. Kim found a room to rent, changed her license, produced documents to prove her new residents and refiled candidacy paper. She was sued by Republican mayoral candidate Ron Scoledang. Kim withdrew from the District 5 special election before a case could be decided by a judge, and this after Herculean efforts to establish a second District 5 address.
if convicted on perjury charges, Kim would face a lifetime ban on holding public office. Kim told the Voice of OC she will plead not guilty. The hearing is in court at Newport Beach Friday morning. If convicted. She faces 10 years and 8 months in state prison and six months in county lockup.
Kim faces three felony counts of perjury by declaration, three felony counts of filing a false document, one felony count of a public official aiding the illegal casting of votes, one count of filing false nomination papers, and one felony count of knowing registration of someone not entitled to vote. I hope Spitzer doesn’t get ahold of the investigators report proving that I was living in Riverside while shaking down developers as a member of the Santa Ana Planning Commission. I’ve been busy harassing Riverside City staff and city attorney since I got elected to Council out here in Riverside and if they arrest me I’m screwed.
