LA/OC BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION TRADES COUNCIL ENDORSES CONNOR TRAUT FOR OC SUPERVISOR

BUENA PARK, CA – Today, the Los Angeles and Orange Counties Building and Construction Trades Council announced their unanimous endorsement of Buena Park Vice Mayor Connor Traut’s campaign for Orange County Supervisor. Traut is running for the 4th Supervisorial District to succeed Supervisor Doug Chaffee, who is term-limited.

Ernesto Medrano, Executive Secretary of the Building Trades Council, released the following statement regarding their endorsement:

“Connor Traut is a longtime ally of working families in Orange County. In Buena Park, we saw firsthand the positive difference that Connor Traut made. With Connor’s leadership, the City of Buena Park entered into its first Community Workforce Agreement for infrastructure projects. It’s been a huge success, enabling Buena Park residents to enter Building Trades unions and apprenticeships. It strengthens the local economy. Now, Connor Traut is ready to meet a new challenge: to help lead a county of 3.1 million people at a dramatic time in American politics. Connor Traut entered politics at a young age and brings a fresh perspective. There’s no question that he is ready to join the Board of Supervisors.”

Representing 160,000 skilled members of 48 local unions and district councils across Southern California, the Los Angeles and Orange Counties Building and Construction Trades Council advocates for policies that benefit the construction industry, particularly the workers and the companies that employ them. The Council and its affiliates work with elected leaders and policymakers to ensure economic growth and development that lead to job opportunities for building trade members across the region.

ABOUT CONNOR TRAUT
Connor Traut is a local Vice Mayor, consumer protection attorney, father, and fourth-generation Orange County resident.

Connor was elected to the Buena Park City Council in 2018 by the largest margin of victory in the city’s history. He served as Mayor of Buena Park from 2020 to 2021. Connor previously served as an elected School Board Trustee for the Centralia Elementary School District from 2014 to 2018.

Professionally, Connor works as a consumer protection trial attorney. Connor currently serves as a board director of the Orange County Fire Authority and as Vice Chair of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Anaheim-Cypress. Connor’s previous community service includes work as an Orange County Juvenile Justice Commissioner and Judicial Law Clerk for the Orange County Superior Court, and board leadership of the Police Officers’ Honorary Association, Cops for Kids, Head Start, Arts Council, and Eli Home Shelters for Abused Children.

Connor earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science and a law degree from Chapman University. Connor and his wife Cheyenne, an elementary school teacher and doctoral candidate, reside in Buena Park with their son, Calum, and two goldendoodles.
