Comments are coming in; I will update as they do:
State Senator Dave Min:
“Today’s unanimous verdict—which came from a jury of 12 of Donald Trump’s peers—was a clear signal that the rule of law still applies in America today, and that no one, no matter how powerful, is above the law. It also means that my Republican opponent Scott Baugh is now officially supporting a convicted felon. That makes perfect sense, because Scott Baugh has spent his career violating the law at every turn. While I started my career prosecuting corporate fraud at the SEC and went on to teach law at UC Irvine, Scott Baugh was hatching criminal schemes such as the campaign finance fraud that resulted in his being indicted for 22 criminal counts—including 4 felonies or the Orange County GOP’s voter fraud scheme that led to 12 Republican staffers being arrested. The race for #CA47 is about a lot of things, but it is also about the rule of law.”
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE May 30th, 2024 Statement on the Trial VerdictOrange County, CA – The Republican Party of Orange County released the following statement on the verdict in the trial of President Trump:”This trial has been marred by political bias since day one, from cherry picking a Biden donor to serve as judge in one of the most liberal districts in the country to jury instructions that baffle any attorney in America. The icing on the cake is the judge has chosen to wait for sentencing until four days before the Republican National Convention where we will nominate Donald Trump. This is election interference plain and simple. This verdict will rightfully go to appeal where normal order should be restored to restore not only justice but the broken confidence in our legal system. The ultimate jury will be the American people on November 5th when voters will judge the failed Biden administration.”### |
The historic trial of a former president in a New York courtroom is over. A jury of fellow Americans rendered its verdict finding Donald Trump guilty on all 34 felony counts in the indictment. As expected, Trump immediately disparaged the decision as a disgrace and the trial as rigged.
Why so many Americans continue to support Trump is not easily answered. What we do know is this – a wealthy, politically powerful individual is not above the law in America. Trump’s popularity shows us the threat to our Democracy remains. “There’s only one way to keep Donald Trump out of the Oval Office: At the ballot box,” said President Joe Biden.
We can find some solace in that the very system Donald Trump has tried to destroy remains capable of delivering to the American people what we in the Democratic Party so ardently fight for: Justice.
Justice was done today and that is the truth.
Ada Briceño, Chair, Democratic Party of Orange County and Member, Democratic National Committee
“This veridct should surprise no-one. A politically motiovated prosecutor and a hostile judge set the trial up for so many prejudicial errors. President Trump will have his opportunity to appeal and I am confident that a fair hearing will expose and resolve these issues.
Political prosecutioons are on the rise. This must stop.”
Scott Baugh, GOP candidate for Congress in CA47
“No one is above the law. Today’s verdict is a testament to that fundamental truth. As an Army veteran, and officer of the court, I have dedicated my life to uphold the Constitution and laws of the United States. Donald Trump was held accountable for his crimes today. This November, Michelle Steel will be held accountable for her corruption.” – Derek Tran, CA45 candidate

i’M GETTING A BUNCH OF STATEMENTS FROM FOLKS REACTING TO THE NEWS
This vaudeville NYC justice formed a fork in the road of our future as a country. One way is a republic of opportunity and freedom, fairly for all. The other will control your decisions and resources, while giving globalists free reign in America.
What part of the Ukraine war is okay?
CA is in extreme debt, which is being transferred to our schools. This is because children can’t vote. Dave Min, a politician who spent it all, also wants to take away your gun and give your children KoolAid shots. As long as he brings up Baugh’s indictments, I will remind him of his DUI conviction.
How about paper ballots, hand counted in one day, with ID required? What are liberals afraid of?
Trump is a criminal pamela. But apparently also your lord & savior. He is a man & he will die someday just like everyone else.
This serves as a reminder that in America, the rule of law prevails. No individual, regardless of their wealth or political power, is above accountability. Trump’s conviction by a jury of his peers underscores that our legal system can hold even the most powerful to account. Predictably, Trump has labeled the trial “rigged,” just as he does with every election and legal proceeding he loses. The King of Crybabies will learn that we do not have kings in America.
