Former federal prosecutor Chris Duncan highlights Laurie Davies’s extremist ties after yet another shameful Jan 6th anniversary
VISTA, CA – Today, Thursday January 18th, San Clemente Councilmember Chris Duncan unveiled a new billboard showing his opponent, Republican Assemblymember Laurie Davies, standing side-by-side with convicted January 6th terrorist Alan Hostetter at a pro-Trump rally in San Clemente.
The billboard, prominently displayed in the heart of the 74th Assembly District on S. Santa Fe Ave. in downtown Vista, contains a simple but powerful message: “Laurie Davies stood with a convicted January 6th felon. Literally.”
Hostetter was recently sentenced by D.C. District Court Judge Royce Lamberth to 135 months in federal prison for his violent role in the Capitol Insurrection, which is among the longest sentences handed down to a January 6th insurrectionist so far. Davies has repeatedly refused to comment on her association with Hostetter, and has never denounced or otherwise criticized him for his role in the January 6th U.S. Capitol Insurrection.
Chris Duncan released a statement on the new billboard campaign: “As a former federal prosecutor, there’s nothing more sacred to me than preserving law and order and defending our public safety professionals. Republicans and Democrats should agree on that. I hope this billboard sparks conversation about the danger extremism poses to our community and law enforcement, and the expectation that our elected representatives condemn, not associate with, violent extremists who threaten the safety and security of our neighborhoods.”

The district is nearly evenly split between Orange and San Diego counties, encompassing the cities of Oceanside, Vista, San Clemente, Laguna Niguel, San Juan Capistrano and Dana Point, along with USMC Camp Pendleton.
