COTO DE CAZA, CA – Retired Fire Captain and longtime California labor leader, Joe Kerr, recently landed a number of major endorsements in his campaign to defeat MAGA extremist Representative Young Kim.

Joining hundreds of unions across the country in support of Joe Kerr’s campaign are the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), the California School Employees Association (CSEA), Sprinkler Fitters Local 709, Roofers Local 220, and Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU).

AFSCME is the largest trade union of public employees in the United States, and CSEA is the largest school employee labor union in the United States.

Joining Representatives Porter, Schiff, Levin, and Correa in support of Joe’s campaign are Representatives Judy Chu, Mark Takano, and Val Hoyle. Joining state legislators Josh Newman, Tom Umberg, Dave Min, and Sharon Quirk-Silva in support of the campaign is Assemblymember Avelino Valencia.

In response to the overwhelming support received, Joe Kerr stated, “I am honored to be endorsed by AFSCME, CSEA, Sprinkler Fitters, Roofers, and OPEIU. For 20+ years as a labor leader, I fought for our freedom to organize, earn a living wage, receive fair contracts and benefits, and for an economy that works for all. I’m a fighter for the working people and that’s exactly what I’ll do in Congress. I look forward to working with these labor unions in mobilizing the working people of the 40th District as we work to flip this seat.”

Kerr added, “I am humbled to be the only candidate in this race endorsed by any member of Congress. Katie, Adam, Mike, Lou, Judy, Mark, and Val understand my decades-long work and ability to get things done. I look forward to working with each of them to flip this seat blue.”
