Irvine’s Treseder says she’s been bribed; FBI looking at OCPA

Earlier this month, OCPA vice chair Dr. Kathleen Treseder addressed an audience at Unite Unitarian Church in Anaheim regarding the OCPA, her work on the city council, her interactions with former political consultant Melahat Rafiei, and the pending FBI investigation in Irvine.

Dr. Treseder’s appearance may be viewed here: https://fb.watch/nF7ZH9wV2C/.     Hopefully, the video doesnt get deleted (which is fine because I had it transcribed and she’s pretty bad at public speaking so the transcript is a mess).

Dr. Treseder makes the following claims:

  • Melahat Rafiei controlled the Board of Directors for OCPA
  • Dr. Treseder says the FBI is investigating the OCPA and the FBI has given her permission to talk about it.
  • Dr. Treseder claims the OCPA is providing customers with 95.5% renewable energy
  • OCPA has changed “all” of its bylaws
  • Dr. Treseder alleges “people still offer me bribes even though they should know better.

I have a  letter from OCPA’s legal counsel from last June showing no communication, notes, records, emails, or phone records between OCPA and Rafiei or her former frim, Progressive Consulting.  The letter says there were “no records responsive to the request.” But, like her obsession with consultant Patrick Strader, Treseder is doubling down on Melahat, whom she admits tried to hire when she was running for Irvine City Council.

Rafiei denies having any involvement with OCPA and denies that she controlled the board.

And while she never says his name, its clear her most disparaging remarks about OCPA leadership are directed at Brian Probolsky who has already served her with a “cease and desist” on non-disparagement per his separation agreement with the OCPA.

Treseder also claims the FBI will allow her to report that they are investigating the OCPA.  The FBI told her “any agency that starts with OC and ends in an ‘A’ is compromised,” which I’m sure is surprise to those agencies.  Treseder says the OCPA has completely redone its bylaws.  That’s news to me.  So what was changed, added and deleted?

Additionally, Tresder’s permission from the FBI needs to be placed in context.  The FBI will not confirm or deny any investigation in Irvine.  The only clue is that they did interview City Manager Oliver Chi in May and there’s nothing since.  Chi has nothing to do with OCPA, so it’s unclear what the feds might be looking into.

The most shocking thing Treseder said at this church is that “people still offer me bribes.”  Doesn’t she know this is illegal?  Or is she being sloppy with language.  In any event, why hasn’t this been reported to the Irvine City Council, the Irvine Police, the OC Sheriff’s Department or Todd Spitzer’s office at OCDA?

So I’m seeking a list of companies, organizations, individuals, lobbyists whom Dr. Treseder has met with since her appointment to the OCPA Board and her election to the Irvine City Council to try and figure out who might have attempted to bribe her?

Or, she can simply identify the names of people and companies she alleges “still offer…bribes” if these bribes were offered on behalf of her work with the OCPA or the Irvine City Council.

And if a bribe or bribes were offered, did Dr. Treseder report the bribe to the Board of Directors for OCPA, OCPA’s legal counsel, or proper law enforcement authorities.  If she didn’t, why not?

  1. And you are overlooking melanat’s former lapdog Farrakhan.

I can’t believe mushroom girl is claiming some credit for the origination of OCPA.

    She really owns it now.

  2. Treseder is just another shill in the Renewable Energy game. Her claim of supplying the 4 cities in the OCPA 95.5% Renewable Energy is a misleading statement. OCPA and all other Load Serving Entities can only deliver the electron mix that is on the California grid. The mixture on the grid only delivers renewable energy in the 30 percentile range. These numbers can be easily found on the CAISO website. (CAISO runs the California grid) When will these people stop trying to pull the wool over the public’s eye’s.

  3. please provide the link.

Treseder is a climate scientist. What she isn’t is someone with power utility experience

  4. Here is a rule:

When someone tells you they are collaborating with the feds, they are either bat shit crazy or a narc.

I would steer clear of mushroom girl.
