WIL is pleased to announce the endorsement of Allyson Muñiz Damikolas for the 40th Congressional District.

We have backed Allyson since her first race – she was elected trustee to the Tustin Unified School Board in 2020, beating a 24-year incumbent by a ten-point margin, and immediately survived a recall effort led by anti-science, anti-public eduction forces.

Born and raised here in Southern California, Allyson is an engineer, a wife, a mom, a school board member and a problem solver who’s ready to take her professional and lived experience to D.C. to address the issues local voters care about most.

Her top priorities in Congress will be ensuring access to affordable healthcare, keeping public schools strong, reducing gun violence and of course protecting reproductive freedom. (The incumbent Allyson is running against is so extreme she voted no on the Right to Contraception Act!)

Fun facts: While working as an environmental consultant, Allyson spent a year riding ATVs with the California Fish & Game Department to try to solve mysterious bird deaths near Death Valley.

We encourage you to read more about Allyson here and join us in getting behind her campaign to represent the 40th Congressional District, which includes all or parts of Chino Hills, Brea, Yorba Linda, Corona, Anaheim, Anaheim Hills, Villa Park, Orange, North Tustin, Tustin, Silverado, Williams Canyon, Modjeska Canyon, Trabuco Canyon, Lake Forest, Laguna Woods, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Hills, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita and Coto de Caza.

Statement from Allyson Muñiz Damikolas

I’m so honored to have the endorsement of Women in Leadership. As a woman and a mother of daughters in an era where anti-choice politicians are working overtime to take away our reproductive rights, I know the importance of having women not just at the table but at the front of this conversation. With WIL’s support, I know we will be able to keep fighting back and build a future that affords future generations of American women the freedoms, support and resources they need to thrive.

When courageous women run for office to fight for the equality, freedom and dignity that come with reproductive choice, WIL gets behind them early and supports them every step of the way.
