WIL is pleased to announce the endorsement of Kim Bernice Nguyen for the 45th Congressional District.
Born in the district she’s running in and raised by a Vietnamese father and Mexican mother, Kim was the first in her family to graduate high school and college. She won a seat on the Garden Grove City Council at just 25, becoming the youngest person ever elected there. Four years later, she won reelection with more than 75% of the vote.
Her track record on the council includes a community workforce agreement that led to thousands of high-wage, local union jobs. In Congress, Kim will notably focus on healthcare costs (she has more than ten years’ professional experience in the public health sector), housing affordability, education, jobs and inflation reduction.
Kim is a staunch defender of reproductive freedom. The incumbent she’s running against is a cosponsor of the Life at Conception Act, which would effectively ban abortion without exceptions across the country.
Fun facts: A Disneyland season pass holder and pin collector, Kim is a dog mom to Ein, a half-corgi named after the “data dog” in the Cowboy Bebop anime series.
