BUENA PARK, CA – Local teacher and doctoral student Cheyenne Traut becomes the newest Trustee to the Buena Park Library District, an independent elected board that governs the library system for the people of Buena Park and a portion of unincorporated Orange County.
As an educator, 26-year-old Traut serves on the school site council and on both the school district 21st century classroom and curriculum committees. Additionally, she is the lead for her school’s Read Across America event and founded their Fresh Food Farmstand program.
“Early in life, I experienced perpetually unstable living conditions. This upbringing drives my passion to improve outcomes, especially for young people, in Buena Park. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve with library board trustees who are sprouting a new era of literacy.”
Cheyenne Traut and her spouse, Connor, an attorney and city council member, reside in their Buena Park home with their two dogs, Nova and Whitney. Traut will take her oath of office on July 5th at 5:30 p.m. at the Buena Park Library board room.
