Update! Twitterverse Forces Nelson to Withdraw from Consideration for Post with Anaheim Democrats; Donna Takes the Fall

An update to this post from Friday; the Voice of OC decided to cover the vulgar text messages sent from the Orange Juice Blog to a few politically active women, forcing Vern Nelson to withdraw from consideration for a Democratic club leadership.

His wife Donna fell on her sword yesterday and took full responsibility for the sexist, misogynist and hateful tweets and oddly enough, apologized to her Husband for doing so.  There’s only a few problems with the apologize; you’d have to be a doorknob not to see the Tweets were written in two distinct writing styles. Donna left the messages — she says — due to Vern’s obsession with local politics and not his alleged wandering eye.  And the wheels fall off the bus when you listen to Donna’s voice mail apology to one of the woman blaming the entire thing on “Vern’s drinking.”

Orange Juice publisher Vern Nelson has been taking a victory lap for former Anaheim Councilmember Jordan Brandman’s resignation for a couple of weeks now.  And this has gone to his head as reports suggest Nelson sought a vice president’s role with the Anaheim Democrats, a Democratic Party of Orange County sanctioned-club.

But for some women contacted by a Twitter account managed by Nelson and his wife, Donna Acevedo-Nelson last April, the notion that Nelson might not face consequences for comments made to them was unacceptable.  If you need details on last April’s adventures, there are here: https://theliberaloc.com/2021/05/24/the-oj-buck-stops-over-there/

In short, the Anaheim Democrats are going to have some sort of emergency meeting regarding tweets from the @OrangeJuiceBlog account that were every bit as awful as those written by Jordan Brandman.  DPOC chair Adam Briceno again denounced misogyny of anyone and stated Nelson holds no leadership positions within the party or any Democratic club. And the Anaheim Democratic Club reports Nelson has withdrawn his effort to be an officer.  Nelson has had it in for Brandman for years.  He has it in for Assemblyman Tom Daly and Congressman Lou Correa.  He supports Democratic candidates who don’t follow the rules for candidacy like Ken Batiste who passed out fliers saying he was the Party’s endorsed candidate when he wasn’t.  She’s called former Council member Lorri Galloway all sorts of names, presumably because she spurned his romantic advances while denying they ever happened.

She wasn’t following him on Twitter, they had never spoken before, but on April 2, 2021 she would watch in horror as more msgs came flooding into her DM’s from Orange Juice Blog’s Twitter account. Never once responding,

Nelson threw his wife under the bus blaming her for the offensive tweets apologizing for exposing these women to the “Toxic Nelson Marriage.”  So when Mrs. Nelson made public comments taking Brandman to task at an Anaheim City Council meeting, was she being a hypocrite?  Regardless, Mr. Nelson was credibly accused of unwanted sexual advances before and his own blog partner has suggested Nelson was bad at monogamy.  Perhaps the reason he defines his marriage as toxic is because he put the blame for all offensive tweets on his wife.  The recipients of the OJ tweets certainly believed they came from Vern and not Donna.
I’m looking forward to seeing what the Anaheim Democratic Club publicly says about this situation. They weren’t silent on Brandman and they shouldn’t be silent on both Nelsons.

  1. Is there any bigger scumbag than Vern Nelson? (Hint: NO). Just another abusive drunk whose trainwreck of a life leaves him blaming his loudmouth wife for his own out-of-control recklessness. Fellow OC Dems, stand up against this lowlife. (Shout Out to Hurricanes and Johnny’s dive bar for refusing to serve the bum).

  2. In addition to the sexual attacks on all these women, what about all of the drunk driving arrests? Five! He’s a felon! AND his wife outted him for drinking heavily again. The party doesn’t have room for derelicts like Vern Nelson.

In a now deleted comment on the Orange Juice Blog, Newly stated mayoral candidate Ashley Atiken and rumored Congressional Primary candidate Jose Moreno were asked to comment and explain their association with Vern Nelson. The poster claimed he also sent EMAIL and US MAIL copies of this mess. SO FAR NO WORD.

    Where is the Voice of OC on this???? For sure Spencer and Brandon, who are followerws and FB friends of Vern know this.

  4. This Message and a LIVE broadcast was put out last night on FB:

    Vern’s wife Donna slipped into my private messages tonight to claim credit for harassing a woman on Twitter by slipping into HER private messages. The two of you need to stop, right now. How in the world can we take Orange Juice Blog seriously? Issue public statements; do not drag more women into your marital problems.
    Furthermore, if it was Donna’s goal to create the perception that her husband was drunk, sexually cyber-harassing women online, and masterbating in the bathroom to nude photos, she cannot be surprised that local politicos not only believed her, but also reported the events to our audiences. It is truly telling of how devious and abusive she is that she started contacting me last night and accusing me of seeking attention for covering the story.
    I am a political blogger. I regularly cover #MeToo stories. I cover political scandals. I cover candidates and races.
    Only the emotionally underdeveloped deflect in this way. This seems to be a massive problem with a lot of people who push smear campaigns. Never thought I’d see someone do it to their own spouse.

    • Links to your blog please; I never heard of you. I’m not sure Donna is capable of pulling off such a caper but if you want to cut and paste her private message go ahead. The last message I got from her suggested Vern and I do naked mud wrestling to resolve issues and I just want to know what kind of person even thinks that way.

    That woman just skewered Vern and Donna. I wonder what Los Amigos is going to say!

    I see Diamond firing racist red herring out to Zeke Hernandez.Which is especially interesting because he is DIRECTLY involved by his position as senior editor of the OJB BLOG. Does Diamond have access to the Twitter account? What about the other contributors. Where are the “responsible Republicans” on the blog?????

    • Diamond isn’t active on Twitter; Vern has at least figured out how to delete tweets. There’s something seriously wrong with Vern and Donna. No matter how much Donna accepts responsibility for sending the Tweets and Vern points the finger at her for doing it, it’s pretty obvious the tweets are written by two people. The voice certainly changes. And what they can’t change is the voice mail Donna left for someone blaming the twitterstorm on Vern’s “bad drinking.” It undercuts their entire story. I actually hope all of his DMs get exposed because I’m told there are some that are far worse than what we’ve seen

  8. It looks like Donna has widened het net and is now stalking another stranger: popular activist Jenna Beck. Another person Vern and Donna have never met.

    Donna posted a picture of Vern next to a statue with a caption mentioning Jenna. Not to be out done Mark “I NEVER SAID THAT” Richard Daniels chimes in repeating her name.

    What the hell is the matter with these nut jobs?

    • If Lancaster is, as it appears, Jenna talking about herself, then it’s kind of funny when she calls herself “popular.”

      But she should know better than to claim she’s never met me. We’ve met at least a couple times at Los Amigos, when she drives all the way up to Anaheim to look for people to vote for her in her south county ADEM races, which doesn’t seem to me a wise use of her time or gasoline.

      And also, she’s contacted me at least three or four times – always by Facebook voice call – to try to get me and Greg to endorse her for ADEM, but usually to complain about some South County Democrats she doesn’t like, and get me to write something bad about them. Most recently, Emma Jensen and Jackson Hinkle. It seems like she doesn’t like very many people.

  9. These people are such pigs. Donna is on Facebook now apologizing to Vern. Is she a drunk as well? What about the women they verbally accosted? They do seem to deserve each other but what pair of losers. Leeches.

  10. Vern’s drinking problems and abuse of women are not new. What about the politicians that have known about his behavior and have remained close to him? In Huntington Beach, (widely hated) city council candidate Gina Clayton Tarvin has spewed lies about Gracey Van Der Mark for years now and has used Vern to spread her venom. Why has she remained so close to Vern all of these years? Remember when Donna went nuclear on FBook yelling about Gina was ruining her marriage to Vern by also bringing her drama to him? Why has Gina stayed so close to such a serial abuser? Just as she has done with Victor Valladeres. She needs to answer these questions and we will be confronting her throughout the next year to hold her accountable for her shady associations. Politicians are the company they keep and so she is obviously way down in the gutter.
