Here’s what the NY Times reported:
A federal judge ruled DACA unlawful, jeopardizing the legal status of hundreds of thousands of immigrants, most of whom came to the U.S. as children. |

The judge, Andrew S. Hanen of the United States District Court in Houston, said President Barack Obama exceeded his authority when he created the program, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, by executive order in 2012. But in a nuanced decision, the judge said he would not order that the program be immediately vacated. |
DPOC chair Adam Briceno responded with this
This new ruling is disheartening and disappointing beyond words. DACA recipients grow up in America, go to school in America, and are true Americans. For many, America is the only country they know. This ruling harms not only DAA recipients but also disrupts and severs ties with families. friends, teachers and communities. This ruling shows yet again that our immigration system is a broken failure. Our nation is failing to uphold the promise of a path to citizenship.”
