That Trump meme, going around? Here’s your Fact Check

About five dear pals of mine have posted the same meme on social media listing all of the things they won’t forget about the way the left treated President Trump and one actually asked for a factcheck.  So I did.

I’ve penned my response to this meme more than a few of my conservative friends have posted and shared.  The original text is posted first in italics and the response, in bold,  is afterwards.

Truth

I tolerated 44 (Obama) for 8 years and although I didn’t vote for him, I only hoped the best for him, never said ” Not my President ” because he certainly was the President of the United States.

Here is my issue with the whole, “let us all be a United States again” that we heard from Joe Biden.

For the last 4+ years, the Democrats have gone scorched earth. You have salted the fields and now you want to grow crops.

  1. The problem is 72+ million of us have memories longer than a hamster.
  2. We remember the women’s march (vagina hats and all) the day after inauguration.
  3. We remember the 4 years of attacks and impeachments
  4. We remember the constant “not our president” and the “Resistance…”
  5. We remember Maxie Walters telling followers to harass us in restaurants.
  6. We remember the Presidents spokesperson being kicked out a restaurant.
  7. We remember hundreds of Trump supporters physically attacked.
  8. We remember Trump supporters getting Doxed, and fired from jobs.
  9. We remember riots, and looting
  10. We remember “a comedian” holding up the President’s severed head
  11. We remember a play in Central park paid with public funding, showing the killing of President Trump
  12. We remember Robert de Niro yelling “F” Trump” at the Tony’s and getting a standing ovation.
  13. We remember Nancy Pelosi tearing up the State of the Union Address.
  14. We remember the total in the tank move on the mainstream media
  15. We remember the non-stop and live fact checking on our President and his supporters.
  16. We remember non-stop in your face lies and open cover-ups from the media.
  17. We remember the President and his staff being spied on.
  18. We remember five Senators shot on a ballfield.
  19. We remember every so-called comedy show turn into nothing but Trump hate fest.
  20. We remember 95% negative coverage in the news.
  21. We remember the state governors asking and getting everything they ask for and then blaming Trump for their problems.
  22. We remember a Trump top aid verbally assaulted in two DC restaurants.
  23. We remember people banging on the Supreme Court doors.
  24. We remember that we were called every name in the book for supporting President Trump.
  25. We remember that Hollywood said they would leave after Trump was elected but they stayed.

This list is endless, but you get the idea.

My friends will be my friends, but a party that has been on the attack for 4 long years does not get a free pass with me!

Now, you expect unity?

  1. We 81+ million of us have long memories too.
  2. We remember every Trump rally and Tea Party protest where we were called snowflakes, asked in we needed a safe space, and reminded “Trump is your president.” We remember armed militia types seeking to kidnap the governor of Michigan and white supremacists on the March in Charlottesville chanting antisemitic rants while the President said there were good people on both sides.  Heather Heyer’s death and pink pussy hats in peaceful protest are not equal.
  3. We remember eight years of attacks, birtherism and disrespect; but #44 did nothing worthy of impeachment, played less golf in eight years than #45 in four.
  4. We remember eight years of Obama mannequin lynchings, Photoshopped photos of Obama in tribal African attire, images of watermelons grown on the White House lawn and suggestions the Obama family were apes or that Michelle Obama is a man. We expect similar treatment of President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris.
  5. Maxine Walters encouraged to confront and harass members of the Trump administration officials involved with the zero-tolerance policy that separated children from parents at the border; to date, there are more than 500 families the Trump administration cannot reunite because they have lost track of them. Walters did not say to harass Trump supporters so when you say “us” it only applies if you’re OK with kids sleeping on mats on a concrete floor with a Mylar blanket.
  6. We remember the president’s press secretary being asked to leave by the owner of the restaurant politely and respectfully; it was a reflection of the daily incivility by POTUS via Twitter upheld by Sarah Huckabee Sanders. “I said, ‘I’m the owner,’ ” she recalled, ” ‘I’d like you to come out to the patio with me for a word.’ ”  They stepped outside, into another small enclosure, but at least out of the crowded restaurant. “I was babbling a little, but I got my point across in a polite and direct fashion,” Wilkinson said. “I explained that the restaurant has certain standards that I feel it has to uphold, such as honesty, and compassion, and cooperation. “I said, ‘I’d like to ask you to leave.’ ”
  7. You remember Trump supporters being physically attacked? Trump offered to pay legal fees of those arrested assaulting protesters at his rallies. Heather Heyer died protesting in VA.   Trump supporters in Texas surrounded the Biden bus, creating an unsafe situation for those onboard.  I remember hundreds of Trump supporters walking 4 miles in the cold back to their cars in Nebraska after a rally because there were no shuttle buses.  Whose fault is that?
  8. I remember Trump supporters harassing non-supporters and threatening them and being identified on Twitter, doxed and arrested for crimes the committed which led to their firing. If a Biden supporter did the same thing, they should suffer the same consequences.  There was that organized Trump train harassment of the Biden bus in Texas.
  9. Riots and looting happened under Trump; Biden held no office. Protesters forcibly removed from a church for a presidential photo-op.
  10. The comedian used a prop; not the president’s actually severed head. And she lost work as a result.  Rush Limbaugh’s cancelled TV show had photos of the White House dog in the early 90s and then showed a photo of teenager Chelsea Clinton.  Spare me your outrage.
  11. The play in Central Park was a performance of Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar” sponsored by the New York Times – no public money supported this production.  “Shakespeare’s political masterpiece has never felt more contemporary,” the Public Theatre wrote of the play.  They describe the updated Caesar character as a “magnetic, populist, irreverent,” who “seems bent on absolute power.” And yes, it looked like Trump, but many Shakespeare plays are staged in different historical settings.
  12. Robert DeNiro isn’t elected to anything. Joe Wilson (R-SC) yelled “you lie” to Obama during a SOTU address.  No criticism from Republicans for the disrespect.
  13. I remember Trump turning his back on Speaker Pelosi’s outstretched hand at the 2020 SOTU; I also remember him award Rush Limbaugh a presidential medal of freedom in the hall of the Capitol without the courtesy of informing the speaker. And then Trump’s actual address was filled with documented lies and half-truths.  I would have used a paper shredder.
  14. The mainstream media reports the news which Trump calls “fake” and claims that all sorts of press are failing. He demands only praise from the press which he gets mostly from Fox News, Oann, and Newsmax.  Undermining a free press is what a despot does.  Journalists are biased against liars of any party.
  15. What bothers you about fact checking? This president is closing in on 30,000 documented lies in his administration.
  16. See the response in 15; applies here.
  17. Even the FBI says Trump’s campaign wasn’t spied on. This is another documented lie the president has told so often he believes it.
  18. Five senators were not shot on a baseball field. One Republican Congressman was and four staffers were as well.  They were shot by a former Bernie Sanders supporter who was killed by police.  Sanders is not a Democrat.  The rifle was legally purchased and modified to accept a detachable magazine and the original stock was replaced with a folding stock.  Gun violence remains a problem in the US.
  19. Every comedy show makes fun of the president and has for decades. Most presidents ignore them.
  20. How can you remember 95% negative coverage in the news when so few of you Trump supporters watch mainstream media? You soak up Fox News, Oann, Newsmax, and talk radio from Limbaugh to Hannity.
  21. I believe this question pertains to the COVID19 crisis and it’s inaccurate; states were actually competing for PPE products driving costs up. The claim there was no ventilators is also false because the Obama administration asked Congress to restock supplies in 2015 and was denied. The president told Bob Woodward in February how deadly the virus was and failed to tell the governors and the rest of America that.  His efforts to reopen the nation quickly is a reason why this second surge of the virus is so deadly.  I remember Gavin Newsom asking for help with the wildfires and Trump saying we need to rake the forest floors – the vast majority of California forest land is federal property.
  22. Stephen Miller being verbally assaulted in two DC restaurants is nothing; he’s the author of Trump’s border separation policy. Maybe he shouldn’t be eating at a Mexican restaurant.
  23. Yes, protestors banged on the Supreme Court doors. No one dressed up in military garb and an AR15 to play militia.  Protesting is a legal right.
  24. You were called every name in the book for supporting President Trump.   Poor snowflake. Do you need a safe space while I drink your Trumpian tears?
  25. Hollywood leave? Then what would you watch?  “Duck Dynasty?”

So just remember boys and girls, on January 20, 2021 at noon, Joe Biden is YOUR president.

  1. I am a (little l)ibertarian. Trump is my President. Four years ago, Obama was my President. Next year, Biden will be my President. I didn’t vote for any of them but they all were/are/will be my President. Now, can we just get along?

  2. The LiberalOc response to the Trump supporter statement is so replete with moral equivalency errors it’s no wonder Democrats are so misinformed about Trump and his base. Don’t forget much of the animus toward Democrats is a result of the phony accusations and charges brought by primarily Democrats and RINO Republicans against Trump and his administration and the complete waste of taxpayer dollars to prosecute these fabrications. Biden in fact was a party to these known frame-ups and he didn’t exercise any ethical values to call out these disgusting acts of sedition. He went along with it. I have followed Biden in his 47 years in politics and the man has not been an exemplary example of presidential material, not to mention he has no record of accomplishment. He lied about his academic credentials and appears to be lying about his involvement with his son’s business dealings with the Communist government of China. He is not a person I that deserves my respect. I don’t know why the Dem party of late always chooses the candidates with the least integrity. They had a decent person in Tulsi Gabbard but in criticizing Hillary the Queen, that shot down her chances.

  3. With Joe Biden’s criminal background, he won’t be able to pass the FBI background check for a security clearance. On the other hand, the FBI has a different standard for Democrat elected officials, allowing for acts of corruption, sedition and traitorous activity, so he may get it after all. The rest of us must meet the much higher standard in order to obtain a clearance.
