Fullerton School Board Member and Lifelong Fullerton Resident Aaruni Thakur Announces Campaign for Fullerton City Council

Fullerton School Board Member and local attorney Aaruni Thakur today announced his campaign for Fullerton City Council in the November Election. He is running for District 4, which will be having its first by-district election since being drawn in 2016.

Upon announcing, Mr. Thakur stated:  “Ever since I grew up here, I’ve watched for years as our neighborhoods experienced blight and neglect at the expense of other parts of the city. My wife and I bought a home here in Southwest Fullerton just blocks from where I grew up and we love this area. We want our kids to have the same great experiences we did growing up. But that means ensuring our neighborhoods have a voice to bring much needed change. Our community deserves better.”

As a Fullerton School Board Member, Mr. Thakur has taken an active role in improving the schools he attended growing up, including Orangethorpe Elementary School, Nicolas Junior High, and Sunny Hills High School. He has championed modernizing aging campuses and playgrounds, implementing strong health and safety policies, and kept the community informed of developments in the COVID-19 pandemic. Mr. Thakur currently represents small business owners as a workers’ compensation attorney.

“As your Councilmember I’ll fight for the revitalization of our neighborhoods,” Thakur stated. “I’ll provide compassionate solutions for the homelessness crisis, bring in new businesses, and revitalize our local economy. Above all, I’ll protect our community and keep residents safe.”
