At 11:18 a.m. Pacific time October 3, President Trump is texting you.  It’s a national test of a new a Presidential Alert of the Wireless Emergency Alerts system designed to send urgent public safety messages directly to the cell phones of Americans in the event of a major national crisis such as a terrorist event, or any other emergency that can impact the entire population.  You’ll get a loud beep tone to tell you (turning your sound off won’t stop it either).

The service stems from a 2008 agreement where major mobile phone companies partnered with the FCC and FEMA.

This federal presidential alert is similar to the ones issued by state and local governments such as Amber Alerts.  It’s unclear that if you reply to the Text messages you got if Trump sees it.  The fear many have is Trump will use this network as he does Twitter; to communicate political updates.  I’ll be replying to his text to ask him to release his taxes or remind him Bob Mueller’s investigators are doing an amazing job.

  1. Immediately afterwards, “The Tweet of God” on Twitter tweeted something like,

“This not a test! The constitution is in grave jeopardy! Immediate action is required.”

    Very droll. 🙂

  2. I have a tweet that should go out to every cell phone in America:

“Danger! Psycho scumbag Disgusting Donald Trump is a Russian puppet & internet troll masquerading as president. If you see Traitor Trump, call the FBI immediately!” ⚖️
