“Fake news” is anything reported that President Donald Trump doesn’t like. Led by the Boston Globe’s editorial board, hundreds of newspapers have taken up the cause of why a free and independent press is vital to democracy and our Republic. Trump is not the intended audience — it’s everyday Americans, who must be reminded without the Watchdog function of the press, our fragile democracy can easily be snuffed out.
