The Democratic Foundation of Orange County is pleased to invite you to a luncheon honoring Irvine activist and leader, Farrah Khan. Farrah has dedicated her efforts to improving the quality of life in her community, all while bringing different groups of people to the table. She looks to continue her advocacy in her 2018 race for Irvine’s city council.

After earning her degree at UC Davis, Farrah worked as a Regulatory Affairs Manager for a major biotech company for 8 years. Farrah is now a small business owner, working alongside her husband in running a restaurant and catering business. Her 4 children, 2 of which are foster children, all attend Irvine’s public schools. Farrah has been an active parent, having served 3 terms as PTA president, and currently serving on the school site council. In 2014, Farrah was appointed Community Services Commissioner for the City of Irvine, where she worked on improving Irvine’s open spaces.

As a champion for diversity, Farrah has been actively involved in the interfaith community. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the Newport Mesa Irvine Interfaith Council. In 2011 she founded First Drops, a children’s interfaith group that teaches the youth about different faiths by taking them on tours of houses of worship and teaching them how to give back to their community.

Currently, Farrah serves on the Executive Committee for the Democratic Party of Orange County as the Vice Chair representing South Orange County. We are proud to honor Farrah, a great Democrat and leader. Joins us on Thursday, June 28th as we hear about her vision for the future of Irvine.
