Knock Doors, Not Other Dems, and Advice Not Followed

Rouda’s Unity Ad Preceded a Nasty Website

Nothing bothers me more than good Democratic candidates bashing other good Democratic candidates; the Congressional races in CD-45, 48 and 49 have been nothing short of brutal.

I’ve already taken Dave Min’s campaign to task over their claims that Brian Forde’s bitcoin investors who are campaign contributors do not support the use of cryptocurrency for drug deals or human trafficking.  One of the most common use of cryptocurrency now is actually paying for expensive cancer treatment drugs.  I’ve been sending Min details on cryptocurrency basics so if he does win a spot in the final in November, he won’t be making dumb claims about a technology I don’t think he gets.

The headline, in part, is borrowed from a social med ad run by CD-48’s Harley Rouda, calling out CDP-endorsed candidate Dr. Hans Keirstead for clean campaigning and then running a website called “The Truth About Hans” that regurgitated claims against Keirstead published in a Mother Jones article that actually exonerates Keirstead for alleged bad behavior and utters other claims about Keirstead. I contacted Rouda Friday about the hypocritical nature of the add versus the website and he didn’t respond.  But within hours, www.thetruthabouthans.com was redirected to Rouda’s campaign website.  So it appears Rouda followed his own advice when called out on it.

We have the Doug Applegate people having a canary over an IE benefiting Mike Levin.  Mike hasn’t campaigned that way and he has four times the Twitter followers of the next highest opponent in the race and won significant endorsements .

Se have great candidates here; the enemy is each race are the Republicans.  Eyes on the prize.  If you don’t win, rally around the winner.  We can do this.  But we need to stop knocking other dems.
