State Rep. Don Wagner (R-FivePoint) and a Republican/Haddad candidate for Mayor, is already looking past next month’s election.  TheLiberalOC has learned Wagner has opened a “Don Wagner for Attorney General 2018” committee yesterday (10/6/2016 at 2:46 PM) and there’s already $3,600 contributed to an account that has $5,252.87 according to a form 460 on file with the City of Irvine. You can read it here.

So for our friends at Irvine City News who have enthusiastically endorsed Wagner, way to pick em. Don only has his sights set on a single term if he’s lucky enough to get elected.

As I explained to a pal last night, Wagner is up against two other known Republicans.  Katherine Daigle, a principled conservative who has lived in Irvine for years, and Gang Chen, who’s a lock for the Chinese American vote especially those opposing a Veteran’s Cemetery and Memorial at the Great Park.  That’s about 10-20 percent of the Republican vote right there.

Mary Ann Gaido is the sole Democrat running in a high voter turnout Presidential year where the Top of the Republican ticket (Donald Trump) is morally repugnant to vast blocs of Irvine’s diverse voters.  Additionally, thanks to the good work of the Democratic Party of Orange County and the Irvine Democratic Club, Irvine is a majority Democratic City.

So for the next Mayoral candidate’s forum, can someone ask Mr. Wagner why he thinks he’d be a great AG?  And while you’re at it, ask Christina Shea about her FPPC investigation and which state laws she may have broken by using her elected position to benefit her business.  Don’t forget to ask Anthony Kuo for details of his Hit-and-Run accident in Newport Beach and his propensity for telling white lies. #IrvinesDeplorables

  1. Don Wagner will defeat former Agranista Mary Ann Gaido for Mayor and most likely do a good job. I have no problem with him looking ahead, because that is what politicians do. His chances of being elected Attorney General in the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia are slim and none. As such, he will still be around to continue service on the Irvine City Council. By the way Dan, you need to get some new lines because you old accusations against Republicans are boring at best.

    • sure he will; she is the sole Democrat running in a Democrat-majority city against three other Republicans. I sure hope voters keep asking yoru BFF Christina Shea about how she uses her elected position to benefit her business. The FPPC likely wont rule until JANUARY and be prepared for her to have to pay $5K in fines

  2. Fat Pat (Ltpar) returns once again from exile in Colorado. And again he has nothing to say. There’s only three things Fat Pat mentions in a sentence — a noun, a verb, and Agranista. There’s nothing else.

We agree on one thing: Don Wagner has zero chance of state office in California. Maybe he should join Fat Pat in a whiter place.

  3. Pat, You use the played out term of Agranista and then have the nerve to tell Dan that he needs new material. I have lived here for over 30 years and I think you’re the one who needs new material.
