Irvine, CA – Former Irvine Mayor Beth Krom, who currently serves on the City Council, and former Mayor Sukhee Kang announced their endorsements of Shiva Farivar’s campaign for Irvine City Council today. Support from the pair of prominent leaders – who have, combined, won 8 citywide elections in Irvine – represents a huge boost of momentum for Farivar’s campaign.
In announcing her support, Krom stated:
“I am proud to endorse Shiva Farivar in the race for Irvine City Council. Shiva served with me for nearly a decade, first as a Council Executive Assistant and liaison to local schools and community organizations, and then as my appointee to the Irvine Community Services Commission, where she had the honor of being selected as Chair. Shiva is a global thinker with deep roots in our community. She is a leader who understands the value of planning and knows what it takes to maintain and enhance quality of life for all Irvine residents. I know she will fight for a clean, green, and sustainable future for our city, and work directly in the community, supporting our children, families, and seniors. I hope you will join me in supporting Shiva Farivar for Irvine City Council.”
Kang added:
“Shiva Farivar is a thoughtful, effective, and hardworking advocate for Irvine’s residents. Our City Council needs more leaders like Shiva, who are willing to put political games aside, roll up their sleeves, and build the coalitions that are needed to get things done. I am excited to announce my wholehearted support of her campaign for City Council.”
