Hat tip to Anaheim Blog and the OJ Blog with news that the People’s Map was re-instated unanimously last night by the Anaheim City Council and the sequencing giving one Latino majority seat in District 3 will be part of the 2016 elections.
While District 2 was left off the election cycle for this November, Council member James Vanderbilt has already moved into that district giving District 2 an elected at-large member of the council. One of the districts, to be selected randomly, will be up for election in 2018.
Now that the sequencing and map is settled, watch for an announcement shortly from Dr. Jose Moreno that he’s a candidate for the District 3 seat. Gail Eastman announced she was running for Anaheim city council months ago. Moreno “won” District 3 over Eastman in 2014 by about 150 votes; both lost bids to be elected to the city council.
Thank God.
Now the OJB can get back to what they do best: personal attacks on peoples health, appearance and relationships.
HUH?
Seriously, you are describing THIS place much more than mine. The projection in the blogosphere! Or have you not been over there since the Pedroza days?
Dan keeps Pinky around for just what you describe, but there are other courageous anonymous scumbags here as well.
People come here of their own free will. I don’t keep anyone around
We’ve banned people for much less than pinky’s oeuvre.
yeah …. I know …. you’ve banned people for very little reason … like tweaking Diamond … like me.
anyone who disagrees with you, you ban. thin skin.
Perhaps its time to review the recent back in forth on Jordan’s weight loss. The guy hits the gym every day.
I no longer come here to be subjected to moderation, as a rule, but I’ll make an exception here.
I wish that Jordan were not on the City Council, but I do not wish him ill health. I raised the topic at OJB because literally dozens of people that I know of had already done so at City Hall. And unlike the old days of FDR in a wheelchair, it’s not something that can readily be hidden because it’s all on video.
If Jordan told you that it was because he was “hitting the gym,” that fine — he’s entitled to say so and you’re entitled to believe him. If so, great. But if so, he may want to lay off a bit.
Anyone can compare his robust look at the City Council meeting of Dec. 8 with his appearance on Dec. 15. That of itself was not of great concern, because it seemed likely to be from a temporary illness. That’s what I and others presumed — that he’d look fine again in four weeks. That on Jan. 12 he looked the same way that he did suddenly on Dec. 15 was worrisome and distressing.
I hope that you’re right that he’s doing well, but I don’t get the sense that you particularly care what’s true or not, as what matters from your perspective is either what he told you, what someone told you on his behalf, or what you can get people to believe.
I was prompted to comment here simply to say: you can do what you want to do, but please come up with something better than that he “hits the gym every day.” That’s macabre. All I’ll say is that if he’s sick I hope that he heals — and please spare us adults the disrespectful “happy talk.”
Greg — I’m glad you’re not commenting here regularly because you add little to the discussion and often drift into less than fact-based arguments based on what you think is true. Your lack of commenting has actually raised the level of discussion over here. And moderation works much better than an outright banning you guys do when someone doesn’t agree with you.
That said, anyone who addresses an elected body via a “puppet show,” hang out with fellas who know what the inside of a jail cell looks like, and still clings to a notion anything you say truly matters in the Democratic Party of Orange County while you carry water for a conservative Republican mayor is hardly someone I’d treat as an “adult.”
That said you wrote: “but I don’t get the sense that you particularly care what’s true or not.” That would be you. So from December 15 to January 12 is about 28 days; 35 days from December 8. You never talk with Jordan. I do. You don’t talk with his friends. I do. You never have a cup of coffee with Jordan. I do (but haven’t for a few months). I have something called “first hand knowledge.” You have speculation, rumor, and innuendo.
Jordan has been engaged in a rigorous workout routine (key word there…routine). He hits the gym every day (I haven’t asked if he’s using a personal trainer or not but I’d say its a safe bet). He’s watching what he eats and working out regularly which usually results in weight loss while adding muscle to his frame. He might “want to lay off a bit?” Perhaps you ought to take your own advice when it comes to the dinner table.
It’s more about what you can get people to believe. Do yourself a favor before you start writing about things you have not a clue about. Pick up the phone. Send an email. Try to actually find out instead of posting something about his health. His weight loss has nothing to do with the bronchitis he was working through on the Jan 12 meeting. His weight loss has everything to do with exercise. Try it sometime and you won’t be wandering the halls of your rented apartment in the middle of the night.
A three hundred and fifty pound “vegetarian” who appeared to be literally bursting from his clothes, while dribbling and spitting in anger at his turn at the speakers podium.
I would presume you would never comment on your brother in laws slight frame or Paul Lucas’ devestated body (as described by V. Nelson), yet you double down here.
If your plan is to crash and burn in OC, you are doing an admirable job
Did you ban someone for disagreeing with you on this issue at OJ? Thin-skin for sure
Who wants to know?
I do. You complaint about being on moderation but it takes a lot of outright ban someone here. You do it if someone pushes back on you.
Why would you think that I did?
I think your comment about “removing someone from the room” has something to do with it; not sure which post its on…I got an email about it
GD – Censorship is one of the most basic elements of authoritarianism.
You digesting jerk. Between you, Nelson and LUCAS, you’re a collection of overweight douchebags
What an arrogant fool you are Diamond. Lecturing Paul Krugman on humility. You lack self awareness
Greg Diamond weighs THREE HUNDRED pounds and claims to be a vegatarian!
How is that possible? For Greg and Cynthia to attack Jordan Brandman’s appearance demonstrates how low CATER and Mayor Taits supporters will go.
Could you imagine poking fun at Taits dribbling dementia’d Father (forget not Tom inherited, did not EARN this business). Greg Diamond and Cynthia Ward are underpaid shills.
Not only has Mr. Diamond begun to act out in the EXACT manner he blames others for, he does so with cowardice and abandon, naturally he tries to baffle us with bullshit in excusesing it, but we KNOW what Greg was insuating and Chris Prevatt, Jeff LeTouneu, Bao Ngyuen should be pissed and say so.
Greg is described on his blog as being “arguementitive”, “stubborn” and a bunch of other self grandizing terms. But Vern and company should add: “vicious” , “mean spirited” and a “sore loser, but non content winner”.
I posted a duplicate comment at OJB. I doubt it will see the light of day. Greg is all a out Greg.
