Social media has been a trip in Irvine this year with charges of lying from both sides about each others records reaching laughable levels. But Irvine Democrats who received the recent flyer pictured above suggesting IUSD president Sharon Wallin is endorsing the Irvine Republican ticket of Choi, Lalloway and Schott shouldn’t be confused — it’s a big fat lie. We spoke with Wallin this afternoon and she assures us she hasn’t endorsed anyone. Which is pretty much how she rolls. The flyer was put together by the California Homeowner’s Association, an IE which gets principal funding the Emile’s Hadded’s company, natch.
Republicans don’t like the fact the DPOC failed to endorse Wallin for re-election (a massive failure on the part of the DPOC Central Committee if you ask me) but to suggest Wallin would abandon her core progressive roots to endorse three conservative blowhards is patently false. Glasky has gone hard core partisan this election cycle and has been involved in securing quotes for IEs promoting the Republican slate; Wallin is simply running to continue doing her job on the school board. Choi, Lalloway and Schott ought to apologize for trying to deceive voters here (they won’t). And whoever stuck Wallin’s name on this flyer ought to own up to it and apologize to her for it.
