GOVERNOR BROWN AND ASSEMBLYWOMAN QUIRK-SILVA ADDRESS VETERANS IN ORANGE COUNTY
IRVINE – Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva (AD-65), Chair of the California State Assembly Veterans Affairs Committee, joined by local veterans and their families, invite members of the press as she welcomes Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. to the Great Park, formerly known as Marine Corps Air Station El Toro where up to 125 acres have been designated for the use of Orange County’s first State Veterans Cemetery.
“I am excited to welcome Governor Brown and thank him for signing Assembly Bill 1453, legislation that will establish a veteran cemetery in Orange County, into law. This historic piece of legislation is a tribute to Orange County’s proud military history. I would like to invite you to join me and veteran community leaders as we celebrate the good work that the State has done on behalf of our service men and women,” stated Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva.
