Newly-minted Democrat Dr. Jose Moreno has announced a slew of endorsements in this bid for Anaheim City Council. Here’s the scoop:
Today, I am thrilled to announce the endorsement of our campaign this week by several highly respected local elected officials from Orange County including Bao Nguyen – Garden Grove Unified School District Trustee and candidate for Mayor of Garden Grove; Roman Reyna – Santa Ana City Councilman and candidate for Mayor of Santa Ana; Joe Shaw – Mayor Pro Tem of Huntington Beach; Sergio Contreras – Westminster City Councilman; Sal Sapien – Former Mayor of Stanton, and Annemarie Randle-Trejo – Anaheim Union High School District Trustee.
I am humbled by the support of these local leaders and the words to the press today by Trustee Bao Nguyen of the Garden Grove Unified School District: “Cities in Orange County need to get back to the basics and focus on providing better services to their residents. Dr. Moreno understands this and will ensure that the Anaheim City Council puts its residents first. He will represent all communities of Anaheim, not just a select few.” I’m thankful for the collective support of these local leaders. I look forward to working with them in a collaborative spirit to improve the vibrancy of our local cities and county.
Our city of Anaheim is very blessed with great resources, and despite this fact, the City Council is not fully meeting its obligations to ALL of its residents. Providing fundamental services should be the City Council’s first priority, not its last. As a City Councilmember, I will work hard to make sure to always put residents at the top of the agenda.
