Rep. Loretta Sanchez announces $250,000 grant to Santa Ana College

Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (CA-47) announced Thursday that Santa Ana College has been awarded $250,000.00 in grant funds for the Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) program. The funds will help military veterans receive the skills they need to successfully continue their educations beyond a high school diploma or GED.

At 7.8% U.S. Jobless rate drops to lowest level in 44 months

The U.S. Department of Labor announced this morning that the jobless rate has dropped below 8 % for the first time in almost four years. The number of people reporting they’re employed has jumped by 873,000 in the month of September. The percentage of unemployed dropped from 8.1% to a 44-month low.
