The Los Angeles Times reports this morning a front organization made up of former Navy Seals and CIA employees that has launched a “Swift Boat” style attack on President Obama. From the story Group attacking Obama for security leaks includes past talkers: In politics, the story line rarely changes: Do as I say, not as I do.

The Democratic Party of Orange County will consider endorsements in municipal races for the November 6th elections. The party will be endorsing candidates running for Mayor, City Council, School Board, Community College Districts and Water Districts.

Last night on FOX, Paul Ryan again attacked President Obama for the very same Medicare savings that he includes in his own budget – and then attempted to walk away from those policies, which he has advocated in Congress as a hallmark of the House Republican agenda, and which Mitt Romney has broadly endorsed as part of the Romney-Ryan Budget time and time again.

I’ll be travelling to Charlotte, NC to cover the Democratic National Convention as credentialed press. While there I’ll be following a few delegates from Orange County’s delegation. One of those delegates, Dot De Leon, is a proud, Latina, take names and kick butts democrat, from the 39th Congressional District.

I got the feeling after watching the segment that Reiff and Capaldi weren’t expecting Dan to be prepared or as on target in his dismantling of their right-wing arguments.

Mitt Romney’s choice of Paul Ryan for Vice President inexorably links Romney to Ryan’s extremist plan to raise taxes on middle class Americans, while providing tax cuts to the very wealthy. The choice demonstrates Romney’s commitment to end Medicare as we know it.

On Thursday, Obama for American released a new television advertisement, titled “Son of Boss,” that asks the same questions Americans are asking – questions that are especially relevant given voters’ heightened attention in this election to the fate of their own tax rates, and the central role tax reform will play in the next administration.

On Thursday the Costa Mesa City Council held an “Emergency Meeting” to “correct” the language of their Charter Ballot Summary. While Righeimer (Little Ceasar) characterized the change as correcting a clerical error, their action is more likely a slight-of-hand move to change the summary after reviewing opposing ballot arguments.
