April Fool’s!

2012 April Fool's Day

Today was our annual venture into the absurd and outrageous in recognition of April Fool’s Day. Our intrepid blogger April Phoole entertained us with her laughable insights, and most of our readers had a good time with it, and some were even briefly fooled.

In general we try to limit our parodies to once a year. And in the spirit of good faith, we have removed the Photoshop image from our post about the closing of the Vietnamese coffee house Cafe Blu, which Santa Ana Mayor Pro Tem Claudia Alvarez found highly offensive. We definitely got a kick out of the councilwoman’s objection to something offensive, given her knack of delivering offensive commentary from the dais in council chambers. Her chutzpa in taking offense, after equating a Jewish business owner in Santa Ana to Adolf Hitler, left us rolling on the floor in laughter.

Since our first April Fools Day we have caught some of our readers by surprise. We hope you had fun along with us this year. If you didn’t, we’re sorry and hope that you someday develop a sense of humor, at least on April 1st.

To recap, below are the six posts we had for April Fool’s Day 2012. The first five are 100% parody—the last one, about Planning Commissioner Sean H. Mill, is funny and true.
