Rep. Loretta Sanchez Accepting Summer Internship Applications

Rep. Loretta Sanchez

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez is currently accepting applications for summer 2011 internships in her Washington, D.C. and Garden Grove offices.

Rep. Loretta Sanchez

This unique internship program offers college and graduate students the opportunity to observe and participate in the federal legislative process.  Interns in both offices assist staff with constituent service, communications, and legislative research, and D.C. interns also provide visitors with tours of the Capitol building.

Applicants should possess excellent written and oral communication skills and a working knowledge of the American political process. Orange County ties are strongly preferred.  Congresswoman Sanchez looks forward to working with individuals who share her passion for public service. Both paid and unpaid opportunities are available.

Individuals interested in an internship should submit a resume, cover letter, and short writing sample no later than April 24th, 2011.  Applicants interested in an internship in Washington D.C. may contact intern coordinator Melanie Abe at melanie.abe@mail.house.gov.  Applicants interested in an internship in Garden Grove may contact Javiera Cartagena at javiera.cartagena@mail.house.gov.

  1. Internship with Lorretta. Is this a BYOKP event? You know, Bring Your Own Knee Pads. One of the most meaningless congresspersons is going to host, at your and my tax dollars, interns for WHAT? To create another generation of weasels and sheep? What had dear Loretta done since taking office, other then staying awake and breathing. An internship with her is an invitation to be the laughing stock of the county; unless she is making this a paid position. Loretta baby, if you got 10K a month, I got an intern for you. Me!!

  2. Maybe if your web site was up to speed, i would not have hit the “Post” button 3 times. Come on Libs, you can be more up-to-grade then that. I shall continue to stick around having discovered there are some Libs
actually alive in the OC. I have decided to join you, and shall daily. Just consider me a business man/psychologist/orange county tax payer, 30 year office in Santa Ana, and a keeper of more secrets then you can imagine. But, with my retirement, I can share those secrets that have baring on our lovely county and its breathren. enjoy. Dr. Crazy
