The Vietnam Human Rights Sanctions Act would impose sanctions on individuals who perpetrate or are complicit in human rights abuses committed against nationals of Vietnam or their family members. Individuals who warrant sanctions would be disqualified from applying for a U.S. visa or taking part in financial or property transactions in the U.S., among other penalties.

Today was a beautiful day in Laguna Niguel. With the Sun again being out, I saw the people at the Street Corners yet again trying to call upon the generosity of the community to help them through these very trying times. One of those voices was a single mother of two children.

Two Years and Still Thankful

While November 24 is the actual anniversary, it was two years ago Monday that I made the decision to have gastric bypass surgery. Two years later, I’m down a total of 160 pounds. I had lost a total of 170 by May but I had some minor surgery this summer that preventing me from working out so I actually put on a few pounds. The weight has stablized and now I’m in maintenance mode. Still, the gastric bypass surgery has been a positive development and one I’m thankful I chose.
